Our Mission Statement
Our Mission at Full Faith Christian Center is to
walk in love; to lead people to a personal relationship with
Jesus Christ; to grow in spiritual maturity; and to reach out to
others in need, through worship, education, fellowship and
outreach.

Our Church
In
January of 1982, after much questioning of God, Harvey and
Colleen Benway trusted God with a "calling" and held their first
service in Chariton, Iowa. Services continued and God
brought people from far and near who helped establish and
incorporate Full Faith Christian Center. In 1984, we moved
from the Shelton Building to the old "Eagles" building on the
levy. This, too, was done after much questioning of God.
Thank God that was the end of moving, but work
and change continued, and continued, and continued, and
continues. Over the years, there has been lots of time,
talents, and treasures put into the transformation from "Tavern
to Temple". Under the guidance of our spiritual leaders,
the family here at FFCC has put everything they have into making
our church beautiful and pleasing to God. As well as the
physical appearance of the building, "Thank God", many, many,
lives have been changed. The teaching of the Word and love
of God was planted and watered and grew, and that process
continues today. In March of 1996, Pastor Harvey "gladly"
went home to be with Jesus. This not only left us a void,
but he, like he regularly did, delegated and left us LOTS of
work to do.
The "call" to teach and preach was given to
Pastor Colleen also and we thank God that she follows that Call
and exhorts us to be ALL that God has called us to be.
Our Foundations
THE BIBLE - God speaking to
us. It is the truth!
PRAYER - provides intimate
contact with our loving God, who will guide us and care for us.
WORSHIP - our opportunity to
tell God how much we love Him. Worship touches both our
intellect and our feelings.
FELLOWSHIP - being part of a
group of people that meets regularly for support, encouragement, and
friendship.
WITNESS - what we have with
God is so good that we enjoy sharing it with others.
MINISTRY - in God's power we
invest our talents and abilities in people and in our community.
STEWARDSHIP - we invest what
we have in time, talent, and treasure, in a way that pleases God and
provides us with the most satisfying returns.
What We Believe
-
THE SCRIPTURES - The bible
is the inspired Word of God, the product of holy men of old who
spoke and wrote as they were moved by the Holy Spirit (also
called the Holy Ghost). We accept the Word of God as our
infallible guide in matters pertaining to conduct and doctrine.
{2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:21; 1 Thessalonians 2:13}
-
THE GODHEAD - The triune
Godhead is comprised of 3 separate and distinct persons.
The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, who are eternal,
self-existent, and self-revealed function as one entity.
Jesus Christ, who is God manifested in the flesh, is the second
member of the Godhead, co-equal and co-eternal with the Father
and the Holy Spirit. {John 1:1, 1:14,
1:18, 15:26, 16:28}
-
REDEMPTION - Man was
created good and upright, for God said, "Let Us make man in Our
image, after Our likeness." But man, by voluntary
transgression, fell and his only hope of redemption is in Jesus
Christ the Son of God. On the cross, Jesus Christ became
sin and sickness providing both salvation and divine healing for
all mankind, being justified freely by His Grace through faith.
{Genesis 1:26-31, 3:1-7; Romans 3:24, 5:12-21, Ephesians 2:8;
Psalm 103:3}
-
SALVATION - The new birth
is necessary to all men and when experienced, produces eternal
life. The first step to personal salvation and eternal
life, is to accept the supreme sacrifice that Jesus make for
all. {John 3:3-5, 3:16; 1 John 5:12; 2
Corinthians 7:10)
"The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart"
(that is, the word of faith which we preach): that if you
confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart
that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the
mouth confession is made unto salvation.
{Romans 10:8-10}
-
BAPTISM IN WATER - Baptism
by water immersion is commanded in the Scriptures, and is for
all who have really repented and in their hearts have truly
believed on Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. This
ordinance is a symbol of the Christian identifying with Christ
in His death, burial, and resurrection. In doing so, they
declare to the world that they have died with Jesus and that
they have also been raised with Him to walk in this new life.
{Matthew 28:19; Romans 6:4; Acts 8:35-39, 10:47-48; Colossians
2:12}
-
BAPTISM IN THE HOLY SPIRIT -
All believers are entitled to, and should expect and seek
the gift from the Father, which is the baptism in the Holy
Spirit. This gift was promised to us by the Lord Jesus
Christ. This wonderful experience is distinct from and
received subsequent to the new birth. The full
consummation of this baptism is evidenced by the initial
physical sign of speaking with other tongues (languages) as the
Holy Spirit gives utterance, and subsequently with manifestation
of spiritual power in public testimony and service. With
it comes the endowment of power for life and service, the gifts
of the Spirit, the fruit of the Spirit, and their uses in the
work of the ministry. {Matthew 3:11;
Luke 24:49; John 14:16-17; 1 Corinthians 12:1-31; Acts 1:4-8,
2:4, 2:38-39, 10:44-46, 11:14-16, 15:7-9, 19:1-7}
-
PROSPERITY - We believe
solely in prosperity as it is taught in the scriptures and not
as some have taken those scriptures out of context for their own
gain.
Spiritual - John 3:3, 11; 2 Corinthians 5:17-21; Romans
10:9-10
Mental - 2 Timothy 1:7; Romans
12:2; Isaiah 26:3
Physical - Isaiah 53:4-5; Matthew 8:17; 1 Peter 2:24
Financial - 3 John 2; Malachi 3:10-11; Luke 6:38; 2
Corinthians 9:6-10; Deuteronomy 28:1-14
Social - Proverbs 3:4
-
THE LAKE OF FIRE - Those
who have not accepted the redemptive work of Jesus Christ will
suffer eternal separation from the Godhead. The devil and
his angels, the beast and the false prophet, and anyone whose
name is not found written in the book of life, shall be
consigned to everlasting punishment in the lake of fire which
burns with brimstone. This is the second death, the lake
of fire. {Revelations 19:20; 20:10-15}
-
RETURN OF THE LORD /
RESURRECTION OF THE JUST - We believe in the soon coming and
quick return of our Lord Jesus Christ, when he will gather all
His Saints to Heaven. The angels said to Jesus' disciples,
"...this same Jesus...shall come in like manner as ye have seen
Him go into heaven." When he comes, "...the dead in Christ
shall rise first, then we (believers) which are alive and remain
shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the
Lord in the air..." {Acts 1:11; 1
Corinthians 15:51-54; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; 2 Thessalonians
2:1}
